Thanks forthe great pics and the advice on the paint. I keep referring to your siteto get ideas on things I can't find in any of the books I've got. Now allI have to do to finish is a complete interior, new hood and fenders, newlights, windshield wipers (complete), paint, transmission mounts, frontend work, disk brakes, a lowering kit and various minor things. I thoughtmy wife would be upset about this project, but now she wants a bug! I didrun across the wiring schematics used by mechanics. Seems my mechanic,Lenny, started with VW and has every single mechanic book (written forabout a 6 grade level) on every vw from 1948 to 1980. What a break! I'mtrying to talk him into letting me put them on the net, so stay tuned. Thanks for the advice on the battery floor, but JCWhitney carries a batteryfloor insert for about $20. Just drill holes, insert and screw or rivetinto place. Then lots of gunk to keep water out. Not bad! Bob |
